The Spirit

This board has been designed in Bellingham specifically for the Pacific Northwest riders that want to have it all in a single board.  

The Spirit has the same overal shape outline as The Legend, however is 1" narrower and slightly lower in volume.   This board will provide a slightly faster ride than the Legend, with a little less stability.

While the outline of the board looks traditional, this board has more to it than at first glance.   The bottom shape of this board is biased towards speed.  This means that while you are paddling around the Puget Sound, you are going to be cruising at a faster pace than a board designed exclusively to ride big waves and cut through Hawaiin chop.    This results in a more efficient glide in non-surf conditions.   This speed transitions into being able to catch waves further out in the surf, giving you longer rides.   On the wave the wide squash tail allows the board to bite into the wave, giving the board a playful and lively feel, while at the same time, giving the board more volume in the tail, allowing you to get back further on the tail.  This tail shape also allows the board to stand on its tail for storage purposes.

The costruction of the board is a traditional 1.5lb EPS core covered with 2 two layers of 6oz cloth and epoxy, a 2mm layer of real bamboo, and an extra layer of 4oz cloth on the top and rails to add extra durability.  The finishing layer is a polyester resin that has been polished to give the boards a beautiful glossy sheen that lets the natural beauty of the bamboo shine through.

This board comes available in Teal is available with or without a white deck pad, a 9" surf fin with 2 4" FCS Thruster fins, and a leash attachment on the tail of the board.

To preserve the glossy finish and beauty of your board, we reccomend adding a board bag.  As with any of our paddle boards, we also reccomend applying rail tape to protect the rail from paddle strikes.

Complete your package by adding the Evergreen Carbon Paddle.   Weighing in at just 23 oz, this paddle has a reduced diameter shaft designed to reduce hand fatigue, with a paddle shape that is suitable for the beginner to intermediate paddle.
