2011 Slingshot Kiteboarding Glide 149 Kiteboard Lightwind Board

When I go the beach, 99% of the time you are going to see me take 1 kite and 2 boards. Most of the time one of the boards is going to be the Slingshot Glide.  Why?  It is 10x easier to come in and switch boards than it is to setup and rig a new kite when the wind either drops or ramps up.  

The Glide has been my favorite lightwind board for years as it is fun to ride and almost always guarantees a session.  Surprisingly for such a large board as this, you can learn to pop off the water for raileys, and you can take it out into strong winds and just fly upwind.  5 years ago when I was racing in the Cabrinha Race Series in San Francisco, I used the Glide to bring my season ranking up to 3rd place before I left to come to Bellingham. 

I have done 20ft+ jumps on this board, and although I'd prefer to be on something smaller for those types of jumps, this board has held up after years of abuse.

For shallow water, this board also has a huge advantage as it has tiny fins that let you cruise in just inches of water.  Fun stuff!

My record for this board is to ride in 10kts on a 12m.  Water was glassy flat, but once I got up to speed, the efficiency of this board made all of the difference.  If its choppy, it takes a little more wind as the chop will affect your glide.  

New for 2011 is the Fast Track Adjustability (awesome), and the full wood construction with the 100% unique paint job.  Each board is uniquely different, and look great.
